Feeding Delicious Christians to the...

"What the heck?"

I know, I know... You've peered inside the DeliciousChristians.com site, and if truth be told, you're a little apprehensive, right?

Not to worry... It's not what you think.

This technology won't bite.

Well, at least as long as you keep feeding the ever-hungry aggregators. No, not gladiators. Aggregators.

Early Christians were daring and bold in sharing their faith. But for God working powerfully and miraculously through them, we would not be where we are today.

Our Objective: Find our 'early Christians'.... Early-adopters... Or in this case, early to adopt a del.icio.us tagging account and start bookmarking great articles, stories, resource-sites, photos & videos. And that others can learn from and build on.

Then crowd all these early-Christians into a networking arena. There, together they can do the feeding, while all the spectators watch & cheer.

"It's a cruel world out there.
Feed or be fed."

Admittedly, being a Delicious Christian may only be for the stout of heart & faith right now. So feel free to just watch & cheer, if you'd like. But keep your eye on the various feeds coming out of all this. [See the RH sidebar here, for instance -- there are a number of feeds becoming available.]

Then, when you feel a surge of bravado, jump into the arena and join us.

*******************************

Caveat: It is possible that one or more of you already in the arena are not REALLY 'early Christians', and thus are anxious to flee the arena. If that's the case, please simply advise -- and we'll spare you.

Neil,

Sounds scrumptious ... I am technically challenged and am having trouble keeping up with all the options; knowing what is for who or what or whatever...

S'ok. Hang in there. No hurry. I enjoyed some time on the phone with Joe this evening on this very topic. And either of us would be glad to do likewise, with you. Anytime.

Hi Neil,
Thank you for taking us all out to the "edge" and standing there with us, so we don't loose our footing! This "Declicious stuff" is really revolutionary! Explain it well in St. Louis! Blessings, Joe Walsh, Sacramento

Neil,

Great idea, Thanks for dropping by Bibleicio.us and sharing the vision. I built bibleicious as a type of what if proof of concept alpha. An example of what Christians can do together with tagging technology. It was based off of a "if you build it they will come". While that's partially true, I appreciate you taking the time to find people and collect them into a community.

You asked about Synergies definately. I recommend we do a few dueling blog posts on the topic to brain storm. I need to update the my blog anyway. I'm more of a programmer than a promoter :(

Off the top of my head - Bibleicio.us is one of the arenas that delicious christians would participate in. I see 3 overlapping sets -
1) Christians who tag.
2) Tags on Christian topics/content.
3) Tags relating content to Scripture.

Delicious Christians focuses on 1 where Bibleicious comes at it from 3. But I think we are going to the same place.

Bryan...

Thanks for the insights. What you're doing is exactly the on-target sorts of innovative ideas that I've anticipated from among Delicious Christians.

I also greatly enjoyed your post at your site regarding how some of this could work together in synergistic ways.

So let me point everyone to your blog post, and pick up the conversation there.
